BERNARD STREET Start date (14/10/10) . Bernard Street will be closed for resurfacing between its jct with High Street and its jct with Queensway for 2 days from 14th October 2010. . HIGH STREET (Start date 12/10/10) . High Street will be closed for resurfacing between its jct with Bernard Street and its jct with Briton Street for 2 days from 12th October 2010. . PORTSWOOD ROAD (Start date 06/09/10) . Gas Main replacement work with temporary signals in use at jct with Brookvale Rd from Monday 6th September to Monday 20th September 2010. . BEDFORD PLACE (Start 31/08/10) . There is a carriageway resurfacing plan with an intended schedule of PHASE 1 from Milton Road to Carlton Crescent between 31st August and 1st September, PHASE 2 from Hensted Road to Cumberland Place between 2nd September and 7th September, and finally PHASE 3 from Hensted Road to Carlton Crescent between 8th September to the 14th September 2010. Expect relevant sections of the road to be closed during the works. Phase 1 and 2 will be closed between 07:30hrs and 17:00hrs, Phase 3 will be closed between 18:30hrs and 06:00hrs. . CHATSWORTH ROAD (Start date: 25/08/10) . Chatsworth Road is closed southbound at its jct with Bursledon Road for seven weeks from the 25th August 2010 to allow gas main replacement works to be carried out. . BROOKVALE ROAD (Start date 31/08/10) . Brookvale Road will be closed eastbound between its jct with Portswood Road and its jct with Russell Place from 31st August for a period of 3 weeks for gas main replacement works. The alternative route is via Winn Road, The Avenue, Lodge Road and Portswood Road. . WIMPSON LANE (Start date 31/08/10) . To allow gas main replacement work Wimpson Lane is to be closed for 3 weeks commencing Tuesday 31st August 2010 between its jct with Romsey Rd and Maybush Rd. Alternative routes Romsey Rd Redbridge Hill or Romsey Rd Green Lane and Windermere Avenue. . TICKLEFORD DRIVE (Start date: 23/08/10) . Temporary traffic signals will be in operation 24 hours a day on Tickleford Drive nears its jct with Wadhurst Gardens from the 23rd August 2010 to the 6th September 2010 to allow traffic calming works to take place. . STONEHAM LANE (Start date: 17/08/10) . Stoneham Lane will be closed overnight between 1930hrs and 0600hrs heading southbound from its jct with High Road to a point 35 metres north of its jct with High Road for three weeks from the 17th August 2010 to allow gas main replacement works to be carried out. . SALISBURY ROAD (Start date: 23/08/10) . Salisbury Road off UNIVERSITY ROAD will be closed for its entire length for three weeks from the 23rd August 2010 to allow essential carriageway maintenance works to be carried out. . KENT ROAD (Start date: 02/08/10) . Kent Road will be closed in both directions from its jct with Belgrave Road to its jct with Saltmead for eight weeks from the 2nd August 2010 to allow gas main replacement works to take place. . HELVELLYN ROAD (Start date: 20/09/10) . Helvellyn Road will be closed in both directions between the entrance to Mason Moor Primary School and the entrance to the Housing Office car park for six months from the 20th September 2010 to allow redevelopment works to take place. . WEST QUAY ROAD (Start date: 01/09/10) . Eastbound closure from jct with Harbour Parade to jct with De Vere Hotel overnight from 200hrs - 0630hrs to on Wednesday 22nd Sept 2010 when temporary bridge is due to be dismantled. . HERBERT WALKER AVENUE (Start date: 31/08/10) . Herbert Walker Avenue will be closed for its entire length for 25 days from the 31st August 2010 to provide security for the Southampton Boat Show 2010. . WESTERN ESPLANADE (Start date: 19/07/10) . There will be no right turn from Western Esplanade onto Central Station Bridge for 10 weeks from the 19th July 2010 to allow construction of pedestrian facilities. . DEACON ROAD (Start date: 01/06/10) . Deacon Road will be closed from its jct with Bursledon Road to its jct with Whites Road for 14 weeks from the 1st June 2010 to allow gas main replacement works to be carried out. The closure will be operated in sections with access maintained where no works are present. . BEDFORD PLACE (Start date: 01/03/10) . Bedford Place is to be closed one-way (northbound) from its jct with Cumberland Place to its jct with Carlton Crescent from 1st March 2010 for thirty-one weeks to allow highway improvement works to be carried out. Diversion for northbound as above. Also closed northbound between Cumberland Place and Waterloo Terrace from 6th May 2010 to 30th September 2010 to allow highway improvements to be carried out. Diversion for traffic coming either eastbound from Cumberland Place or westbound from Brunswick Place is via Grosvenor Square. . BERNARD STREET / ST MICHAEL'S STREET (Start date: 04/05/10) . Bernard Street will be closed from its jct with High Street to its jct with Market Place for 16 weeks from the 4th May 2010, also St Michael's Street will be closed from its jct with High Street to a point 5 metres from its jct with High Street for 7 weeks from the 4th May 2010. Temporary traffic signals will also be in operation 24hrs a day on High Street for the duration of the works. This is to allow Highway improvements to be carried out. ***UPDATE: anticipated completion date 8th October 2010.*** . MARSTON ROAD (Start date: 22/02/10) . Marston Road (including Marston Spur Road) and footway are to be closed both ways from its jct with Hinkler Road to a point 60 metres northeast of its jct with Hinkler Road for 12 months from 22nd February 2010. Diversion route is via: Hinkler Road, Pepys Avenue, Faringford Road, Spalding Road and Marston Road. This is to allow demolition and Construction work to proceed safely. . CENTRAL BRIDGE (Start date: 15/02/10) . To allow bridge strengthening work the bridge is to be closed for a period of 54 weeks commencing Sunday 15th February 2010. Also during this period associated work with road closures is to affect Chantry Rd and Royal Crescent Rd. Alternative routes to be signposted during these works. . |

Temporary road closure between its junction with Reith Way and the Hundred Acre Corner Roundabout to allow for works in connection with the reconstruction and widening of the carriageway. PERIOD OF CLOSURE: 9th October 2010. . ABBEY WATER, ROMSEY . Temporary road closure between its junctions with The Abbey and Narrow Lane and part of Narrow Lane for a distance of 45 metres from The Abbey to allow for works to facilitate the demolition and reconstruction of a retaining wall adjacent to the road. PERIOD OF CLOSURE: 2nd August 2010 - 29th October 2010. . AVERY LANE, GOSPORT . Temporary road closure between its junctions with (Phase 1) A32 Brockhurst Road and Vale Grove, (Phase 2) Vale Grove and Melville Road/San Diego Road to allow for the relaying and connection of gas mains. It is expected that Phase 2 will be carried out under traffic controlled measures and will, therefore, not require a full road closure. Temporary road closure of the service road adjacent to No.8 Marine Parade East to allow for the erection of scaffolding and construction traffic. B3333 PRIVETT ROAD/BURY ROAD, GOSPORT . Four-way temporary traffic signals at its junction with Ann's Hill Road/The Avenue to allow for the installation of water flow monitoring equipment into the existing chambers. Gas renewal works will be carried out in short sections on the whole length of the road. Temporary lights in operation 24hours each day. , EASTERN ROAD . From Velder Avenue to Stride Avenue - temporary lane 1 closure southbound and northbound, one carriageway at a time commencing 31 August to 8th October (no weekend working). 18:30 - 01:00 for first 6 nights and then 09:30 - 15:30 for remaining time. . MILE END ROAD . 1. Partial lane closures (narrow lanes) southbound and northbound until 22 November 24hours each day whilst Trafalgar Links Works are being carried out. 2. As above but northbound reduced to 2 narrow lane (instead of 3) for 2 days from 06:00 2nd September to 16:00 3rd September. Some delays are expected particularly at peak times. . FLATHOUSE ROAD . Road closure - no left turn into Flathouse Road from Hope Street commencing 2nd September to 16th September 24hours each day whilst gas works are being carried out. B3035 Botley Road, to include section from western edge of Moorgreen Road roundabout to eastern edge of Botley Road roundabout and Marshall Drive. . ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: . B3342 Tollbar Way, A334 Charles Watts Way, A27 Moorhill Road and A27 Church Hill, terminating here with access to B3035 High Street for West End Village only, the route will be fully signed on the day. . Access will be maintained for residents and businesses throughout the closure with the exception of the period of pedestrian egress at the end of the event (approximately 1 1/2 hours), during which time all vehicular access will be unavailable. . PERIODS OF CLOSURE: . AUGUST/SEPTEMBER: . Saturday 11th September and Wednesday 22nd September. . (Notwithstanding this, it is expected that on 11th September an access only order will occur from 16:00hrs to Midnight and on the 22nd September an access only order will occur from 11:30hrs to Midnight. A full closure will only occur for approximately 1 1/2 hours surrounding the end of the event). The closures will be controlled by stewards on the day. . |
